THE WORLD RALLYCROSS EVOLUTION

​In 2020 Rallycross will lead the introduction of ​high-performance electric race cars in the new Projekt E ​series.

​In 2020 Rallycross will lead the introduction of ​high-performance electric race cars in the new Projekt E ​series. The FIA World Rallycross Championship will introduce full-electric Supercars in 2021, a transitionary season when they will race directly against the existing internal combustion-engined cars (petrol). 

Also in 2020, Projekt E will be the leading all-electric support series to the FIA World Rallycross Championship, powered by STARD. World RX, Euro​ Supercar,Super 1600 and RX2 International Series continue using internal combustion engines.

In 2021, the biggest change since the 2014 start of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, a new breed of full-electric Supercars, powered by KREISEL, will be introduced alongside the current internal combustion race cars. 

Projekt E will continue as the leading electric support series while a new FIA eRallycross category will provide an entry-level series within World RX events. European Supercar and Super1600 will continue to provide a valuable pathway towards the pinnacle of the sport using internal combustion engines.
