PROJEKT E 2020 CALENDAR REVEALED

The first round of the projekt E calendar will be held at Spa-Francorchamps !

The electric rallycross development series, codenamed Projekt E, will join five rounds of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy in 2020.

Projekt E will make its debut in the World RX of Benelux at Spa-Francorchamps in May (16-17), before travelling to the World RX of Norway for round two and the legendary Hell circuit (June 13-14).

The third of five rounds will be held at a yet-to-be announced venue in July (18-19), with round four being held at Germany’s Nurburgring, where World RX will visit for the first time in 2020.

The season finale of the first Projekt E season will take place at the World RX of Riga, after the Latvian round was confirmed yesterday.

The official unveiling of the Projekt E racecar, a collaboration between IMG and Austrian company STARD (Stohl Advanced Research and Development), took place at the Riga Motor Museum in Latvia in September. The race car is currently undergoing testing and development. 

Projekt E has been created to introduce electric technology into the World RX weekends next year and will use technical partner STARD’s “REVelution” EV powertrain systems which will produce up to 450kW (613bhp) combined power, 1100Nm of instantaneous torque and produce a top speed of 240km/h, fitted to current World RX chassis technology.

The aim of Projekt E is to evaluate electric racecars in a World RX environment in accordance with the phased electrification of the FIA World Rallycross Championship which was has been ratified by the FIA World Motorsport Council.
